It takes many people to make our worship services the best place it can be for people to connect with Christ. We have many opportunities for people to use their gifts and desire to serve on our team.

Communion Servers
We typically celebrate communion each Sunday in our services. If you’d like a hands-on way to help people experience Christ, this is a great place to start.

Creative Planning Team
Occasionally we have creative brainstorming sessions to assist the Service Programming Team in planning upcoming sermon series or special events. If you have an eye or mind for creative communication, this is a great way to use your gifts.

Drama Team
From time to time we include different skits to enhance the message for the week. If you have experience or interest in 2 minutes of acting, this is for you.

Inside Greeters
The main purpose of the inside greeters is to hand out the bulletin, and/or any additional things people need when entering the worship center before the service. If you have a friendly smile and want to help equip people for worship, this is for you.

Outside Greeters
The outside greeters will be the first person anyone meets at the church on each particular Sunday. If you have the gift of being especially friendly and have a heart for people, this is for you.

Slide Operators
The main purpose of the slide operator role is to visually walk guests through our service by projecting the lyrics, sermon slides, and any videos we use in our services. In other words, you’ll click the mouse about 100 times. We will train you.

Sound Operators
The sound operators make things sound good. This includes mid-week band rehearsal and pre-service sound check on Sunday morning. If you have a musical background or any sound experience, we can train you if we need to.

Ushers
The purpose of the usher role is to assist in collecting the offering and help usher people through communion. This is a way to help serve God through leading people in the different pieces of our services.

Worship Team
Vocalists and Instrumentalists help lead the congregation in the music portion of worship. They prepare and rehearse each week to make the music happen. Some singing or playing experience is required.

Counters
Counters are needed for 15 -20 minutes to count the offering in pairs and prepare it for deposit following the 11 am. worship service.

If you want to help with any of these roles, or have any additional questions, please email Keith (keithelgin@thevineva.org).
