Why call it Improv Church?
Because it’s exactly what it sounds like — an improv comedy show that happens in a church. But it’s more than that. Each show kicks off with a short message from a pastor, which then becomes the inspiration for the scenes the comedians create on the spot. No scripts. No second takes. Just pure, hilarious improv that explores the mess, joy, and humor of real life.

It’s church — but not like you’ve ever experienced it.
There’s no preaching at you, no awkward moments, no need to pretend you’ve got it all together. Just people gathering to laugh, think, and connect. Because we believe laughter is holy — and a good night of comedy can feed the soul.

At the end of the night, Communion and Prayer are offered for anyone interested. You’re invited to take part or simply observe — no pressure, just presence.

Come for the comedy. Stay for the community.
Expect the unexpected — and maybe go home laughing and with something to think about.

About Our Guest Preacher:
Rev. Chelsea Morse, Haymarket Church, is a pastor, spiritual caregiver, and passionate advocate for ALL of God’s people. She is a church leader who focuses on the work of spiritual care and healing from a Wesleyan perspective that offers grace-centered discipleship. She holds a Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary (2021) and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Christopher Newport University (2009) and also has a theater and performance background. Growing up, she was a USAF military brat and moved all around the country. Before entering vocational ministry, Chelsea worked in real estate and telecommunications while serving as a modern worship-team leader in Charlottesville, VA—these experiences are what shaped her call to ministry in the everyday spaces of life interacting with different cultures, people, and it opened her eyes to the spiritual needs of this world.
