Stephanie Cunningham

Ministry Intern

A native of Monroeville, Alabama, Stephanie moved to Virginia in 2014 after completing law school at the University of Michigan. She is pursuing a Master a Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary with an emphasis on Christian education.

Following in the footsteps of generations of Christian educators in her family, she began teaching an adult Sunday School class at the age of 12 with nurturing women who supported and shaped her as a teacher. Stephanie’s ministry focus is providing Christian education in a manner that is formative so that what we do as believers matches what we believe. She posits that the greatest invitation into the family of faith is made when others see believers living purposeful lives in loving relationship with God, one another, and God’s creation. Further, she has a family-based approach to ministry so that all are invited, seen, and heard, in the family of faith.

An avid believer that we experience God everywhere, Stephanie attempts to live life fully each day, with specific interests in engaging people and their stories, experiencing the arts, traveling, hiking, and creating in a range of spaces including cooking and crocheting. She is also a certified Yoga instructor. With each day, she seeks to embody and share the peace, joy, and love of God.
